Communication Plan

Library Services Platform (LSP) Program Communications: Purposes and Activities

INTRODUCTION

The LSP is a unified resource management system enabling California community college libraries to collaboratively manage both print and electronic resources using a cloud-based library services platform. The program began in 2018 and 110 California community colleges participate.

Individual librarians, librarians in work groups, LSP staff and administrative and governance bodies contribute and collaborate throughout the year to support operations, practices, and  policies, with costs—including training and support—funded by the LSP project.  Each participating college has local control options for some aspects of the platform while following shared approaches for cataloging, e-resource data, policies, procedures and other services.

COMMUNICATION PLAN GOALS

  • keep stakeholders regularly engaged and informed with the work of the program,

  • promote understanding and awareness of accomplishments, next steps, programmatic changes and needs,

  • strengthen the dissemination of information within and between colleges using the LSP,

  • facilitate effective planning, development, and evaluation of the program, and
