Welcome TexShare

Introduction

Due to the non-renewal of the EBSCO/TexShare agreement, the Community College League of California (CCLC) has agreed to serve as a provider for EBSCO resources for TexShare 2-year college members.

About CCLC

CCLC, also known as The League, provides leadership development for California community college CEOs and Trustees, as well as legislative advocacy and a variety of District Services, which includes the CCLC Library Consortium.

All 116 California community colleges are members of the CCLC Library Consortium, as well as 30 community colleges from other states (including Texas). The Consortium is a joint project between CCLC and the Council of Chief Librarians. The Consortium negotiates and contracts for informational databases and other electronic resources such as streaming video. All licensing and procurement is handled at the consortium level, allowing colleges quicker access to a wider variety of resources, at a significantly lower cost. The Consortium currently contracts with 59 separate vendors for almost 800 different resources.

Cost

There is no cost to join the CCLC Consortium. The Consortium adds a 5-7% administrative fee onto discounted pricing which still allows colleges to pay below list pricing and simultaneously fund the Consortium’s services. The pricing that you see includes the administrative fee.

Next Steps

If your college is interested in joining CCLC to obtain their EBSCO replacement package (and possibly other resources), please complete the membership agreement by March 31, 2023. Completing the agreement does not commit you to purchase, it simply allows us to provide discounted pricing for your consideration.

In April, colleges that have submitted membership agreements will be sent log-in credentials for Consortia Manager, the procurement software utilized by CCLC. We will schedule a demonstration for the software in April as well.

By June 15th, please select and confirm your orders via Consortia Manager. This will generate an invoice with a September 1, 2023 date. Invoices will be due by October 1, 2023.

Still to be determined

CCLC is currently in discussions with our vendors to determine who will expand our current agreements to TexShare members. As we continue those discussions, we will add those expanded offerings here (vendor names) and to Consortia Manager (pricing).
